It had been quite a while since I’d run any “real” distance (more than a mile), so it was time to amp it up. It was March before I did a weekly challenge because of some personal things going on. Which made me all the more determined to get back into it and do more challenges and commit to them even if something “comes up.”
So, I headed out one warm day, in just a t-shirt and shorts and managed to not only do 5k, but, actually 10k! It was a bit crazy, but felt ridiculously good to run that far. Burn off some of the emotions and energy from being trapped inside with my thoughts. And it was fantastic! Can’t wait for the weather to allow more distance runs like that (and further). Since then, I ran 2 more 5k+ runs (4.3 miles and 3.3 miles) last week.
(Note: to make up for missed weeks, I’ll bulk up in the following weeks to catch up. [Wow, that’s a lot of “ups” in one sentence.])
